Twenty Fifty Two

A basement on Adelaide’s party strip gets a makeover for a progressive skateboarding shop.

Skating has evolved well beyond simply being a pasttime for energetic youths, giving birth to a well-informed and multi-faceted subculture that appreciates art, quality garments, and good design.

Working closely with the client, MOLD set about crafting a refined industrial aesthetic, influenced heavily by scandinavian furniture design. Black steel gives the illusion of gravity-defying buoyance to timber elements throughout the shop in the form of tables, shelves, and a feature staircase.
